ResponsiveEd is opening five new schools in Texas for this school year. Two of the new schools are Premier High Schools, located in Texarkana and North Houston. Families seeking a K-8 option in Houston will also have the opportunity to enroll at Fallbrook Academy. San Antonio parents will also have a new college preparatory option in Founders Classical Academy of Schertz. To serve students grades 3-12, ResponsiveEd is also launching a new virtual school, iSchool Virtual Academy of Texas (iSVA).
ResponsiveEd Opens Two New Houston Schools
Fallbrook Academy is a K-8 college preparatory school that ResponsiveEd plans to grow to into a K-12 by adding a high school grade each year. Demetris White is moving from ResponsiveEd’s Vista Academy of Humble to serve as campus director.
“Our team is really looking forward to opening the school. We see so much potential in the students in this community. There’s a real eagerness to learn, and we can’t wait to begin serving them and their families,” she said.
ResponsiveEd’s other Houston school, Premier High School of North Houston is designed to serve 9-12 grade students who want to accelerate their academic program or catch up on missing credits. The new campus director, Alexis Delgado, brings with her a deep knowledge of mastery-based learning systems from her previous position at ResponsiveEd’s iSchool High University Park.
“One of the unique features of both the iSchool and Premier programs is that students who aren’t taking college classes will work through our knowledge units. They can move at an accelerated pace, slowing down or speeding up to complete units as they are ready,” Ms. Delgado said.
Both new north Houston schools are located on Walters Road just north of the Sam Houston Tollway.

ResponsiveEd opens New Texarkana School
Long-time Texarkana teacher and administrator Heather McNeill will lead the new Premier High School of Texarkana.
She believes ResponsiveEd’s new Premier High School will provide students in Texarkana with a fresh opportunity to earn their high school diploma. The tuition-free charter school will help students get back on track with their degree plans, learn career skills and even graduate early through the program’s individualized curriculum.
“As a teacher, I saw students who did not graduate from high school. Everyone tried to help and fight for them. I remember one boy who had to quit because he had to support his family. He was very smart, but his family came first. The Premier program could have helped him graduate and be in an even better position to help his family,” Mrs. McNeill said.

ResponsiveEd Opens New Founders Classical Academy of Schertz
ResponsiveEd will open its seventh Founders Classical Academy in Schertz in August. Founders Classical Academy of Schertz, located on the east side of Randolph Air Force Base, will serve 400 students in grades K-7 in 2016. Headmaster Nathanael Rea brings his prior experience as assistant headmaster at Founders Classical Academy of Lewisville.
“I am excited to be able to share this kind of school culture that honors excellence in academics but also in the student’s humanity, helping them grow into well-rounded human beings. Students will rise to the standard that you set for them. They are capable of a whole lot more than we sometimes think they are. They have an incredible ability to perform at a higher standard that what is often expected of them,” he said.
Within five years ResponsiveEd expects to enroll 700 students in grades K-12. The school will add a grade each year.

ResponsiveEd Opens New Virtual School
ResponsiveEd will offer iSchool Virtual Academy of Texas, a new online academic program, this fall for Texas students looking for an alternative to traditional school options. ResponsiveEd currently serves more than 6,000 students through its Virtual Learning program.
iSVA will serve students in grades 3-12 who want an online school experience that is personalized to their unique needs.
Micheal Wood, ResponsiveEd’s Director of Virtual Education, says the company found a need for a virtual school that can be adapted to each student and began offering its program online.
“In our experience, students have many different learning styles and needs. We are able to meet those needs with iSVA’s curriculum and platform. Our teachers work with every student to create academic plans that include accelerated learning, projects that cross multiple subjects, flexible class times and recorded classes. It’s a very dynamic environment,” said Mr. Wood.
