During his eighth-grade year, Joel began to have behavioral issues which resulted in his mom moving him from his local school district to Premier. With the smaller class environment, Joel finished his senior year with a 3.94 GPA and graduated as Valedictorian of Premier High School \u2013 Pharr\u2019s 2015 Senior Class. Joel went on to attend the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley and graduated with a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Social Work. He is currently seeking a Master&#8217;s in Clinical Social Work and plans to further his career at ResponsiveEd.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/responsiveednewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Joel-Cabrera-2-.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3765 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/responsiveednewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Joel-Cabrera-2--225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"241\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/responsiveed.com\/responsiveed-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/02\/Joel-Cabrera-2--225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/responsiveed.com\/responsiveed-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/02\/Joel-Cabrera-2--768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/responsiveed.com\/responsiveed-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/02\/Joel-Cabrera-2--1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/responsiveed.com\/responsiveed-blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/02\/Joel-Cabrera-2-.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 241px) 100vw, 241px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/premierhighschools.com\/pharr\/\">Premier High School &#8211; Pharr<\/a> teaches students from 9th to 12th grade up to 26 years of age. Mr. Joel Cabrera works with the adult students, which is primarily composed of students close to his age. While the proximity in age can pose an initial hurdle, Mr. Cabrera quickly wins students over with his dedication to each student\u2019s success.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI was a 13-year-old kid when I got here, but I already had teachers give up on me in the past. I was a problematic kid, so they thought there was no hope for me. Providing students with a second chance is what I like&nbsp;most about the school. We help get students back on the right path by providing HOPE.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3766 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/responsiveednewsroom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Joel-Cabrera--169x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"471\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mr. Joel Cabrera\u2019s matriculation through <a href=\"https:\/\/premierhighschools.com\/pharr\/\">Premier High School &#8211; Pharr<\/a> was not just an experience that benefited him, but one that also made a lasting impact on his teachers and administration.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI\u2019m very proud of Joel and his accomplishments. Not only was Joel a great student, he is also a great teacher. Knowing the curriculum and the process has helped him assist our students.&nbsp; I wish more students would follow his path.&nbsp; I would like to add that&nbsp; 3 of his family members have graduated from PHS-Pharr.\u201d says Premier High School &#8211; Pharr Campus Director, Rosario R.
