Andrea is looking forward to starting her second year at Dallas Baptist University. Thanks to the dual-credit courses she took at Premier High School in partnership with Austin Community College, Andrea will be able to move on to upper-level classes and enroll in the Dorothy M. Bush College of Education.

“The thing that I like best about Premier High School was how involved the teachers and administrators were,” says Andrea. “I loved the opportunity to work ahead and take the dual-credit courses. It saved me money and allowed me to discover my passion for English education.”

She is currently majoring in English-Education and her goal is to be able to make a positive impact in the lives of the students she will teach in the future. While working toward graduation, Andrea is making a difference by volunteering at Kids Club, a youth program through Mission ArlingtonⓇ. She is also a part of a swing dancing club and plans to become involved in Greek life this year.

Andrea says that a quote from the movie Unbroken inspires her, “A moment of pain is worth a lifetime of glory.” She says that this reminds her that, “every trial and tribulation that you go through, though unseen at the time, is a situation that allows you to become the person you need to become.”
