Students greeted Representative Jim Jackson with a hand-painted wall mural of welcome when he visited the Vista Academy of Carrollton and chatted with staff and students.
Touring the school with Principal Stephanie Scott and Responsive Education Solutions CEO Charles Cook, Jackson took time to sit down and chat with elementary school students about their school days and learning experiences.
Additionally, Representative Jackson visited Dr. Lauri Matthews as she taught her Math class, listening as she discussed her passion to teach and her joy as she sees students enjoy learning.

Teacher Deidra Russell was on the floor with her students assisting them in Math projects when Representative Jackson surprised them with his visit. He congratulated her on the engagement of her students in their learning.

Re-elected 2008 for a 3rd Term as State Representative District 115, 81st Legislature, Jackson serves on the Public Education and Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence Committees.
Jackson is married to a retired elementary school teacher, and was named legislator of the year during the 81st Session by the Justices of the Peace and Constables Association of Texas.
